Earth has been taken over by the emperor shao kahn and he seeks to steal all the souls on earth. Raiden cannot intervene because outworld has taken over the earth.
However earth's warriors are joining to fight back the outworlders and defeat Shao Kahn in the battle that decides the fate of earth.
